Get to Know the Team at Summit Center Insurance Services

Born and raised in Gretna, NE, Tyler has proven his ability to lead and motivate the team at Summit Center. Tyler graduated from Hastings College in 2015 and started his career in the insurance and finance industry as a Financial Advisor with New York Life Insurance Company before joining Summit Center as the President.

Tyler’s experience as a talented athlete—as well as growing up in his father’s shadow—instilled in him the benefits of a strong work ethic. Tyler has held a successful college soccer career, and it is clear that his strategy, persistence, and determination on the field has translated directly to his career with us at Summit Center. He is structured, persistent, goal-oriented, dedicated, and hardworking.

Tyler has always been family-oriented and actively involved within the Gretna, NE community. His dedication to serving as a role model for younger athletes has inspired him to provide exceptional service to his clients at Summit Center.

Our Vice-President and owner, Doug, has over 25 years of experience in new business development, sales, marketing, and management working for nationally-known companies. Many of these years were spent specializing in the care and protection of clients by providing insurance plans to meet their specific needs.

Doug is best described as a family man. He and his wife, Denise, have been married for over 24 years, and they have dedicated their lives to raising their children: sons Tyler, Cody, and Stephen, and daughter Trinity. Doug’s dedication to his family, and his compassionate nature, is what drives him to build lasting relationships with his clients and his employees. Other peoples’ needs always come first.

Doug’s industry distinctions include Branch Leader 1990; Chamber of Commerce “Business of the Year” 1995 and 1996; Conference Qualifier and Millionaires Qualifier in 2001 and 2002 as an Agent; and Conference Qualifier in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2013 as a Manager. Doug is licensed in Property/Casualty, Life/Health, Series 6 & 63 and has the distinguished Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow [LUTCF] designation.

Nathan was born and raised in Gretna, NE, where he attended Gretna High School proving to be a resilient student and athlete. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University where he played four years of soccer. In those four years, he learned the true nature of hard work which was shown in the classroom and on the field. One of Nathan’s greatest passions is the outdoors; it doesn’t matter if it is hunting or fishing. Nathan has been an assistant coach for Gretna High School soccer for the past year and a half where he strives to be a role model to youth athletes outside of his work and give back to the community. Nate specializes in property & casualty insurance to best protect your home, auto, and business needs. Nathan is eager to continue forming long lasting relationships and building those relationships into clients.

Shelly serves as an Office Administrator at Summit Center Insurance. She grew up in a small town in Iowa and attended a two-year college where she received an Associate Degree in Executive/Legal Secretary. She has worked for a couple of different insurance companies after graduation. Shelly is married to her husband, Jeff and together they have raised three children, Tyler, Brent and Kelsey. Shelly has been a stay-at-home mom until all of her children started school and then she took a job at St. Charlies Borromeo. While working around their schedules, Shelly spent many hours volunteering at the elementary school with the PTO. Shelly has been the club administrator at Gretna Elite Academy for over 10 years. She understands the importance of customer service and responding to others in a timely and friendly manner.

Denise serves as our Office Administrator, helping the agents prepare quotes and ensuring they have all needed information and documents. She grew up in Hastings, NE but moved to Lincoln to study cosmetology and barbering at College of Hair Design. She worked for salons in Lincoln and in Boulder, CO before launching her own in-home salon.

In 2003, her family moved to Gretna, NE and she was a homemaker for their first few years here. She took a role with Gretna Public Schools in 2006 and served as a Para Educator for 10 years with Kindergarten and First Grade. She joined the Summit Center team in 2016.
